Frequently asked questions
Common questions about the QR Code Decoder.
How does QR Code Decoder work?
Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image (up to 20 MB). ToolsArk reads the first detectable QR code with jsQR in your browser and shows the decoded text plus a simple type label (URL, Wi‑Fi, and so on).
Does my image leave my device?
No. Decoding stays on your device. ToolsArk does not upload the image to a scanning API.
Is there a live camera scanner?
Not in this version. You upload or drop an image file. Camera capture may be added later.
What if the image has several QR codes?
Only the first code the decoder finds is returned. Crop to a single code if you need a specific one.
Why did decoding fail?
Blur, low contrast, heavy compression, unusual angles, or unsupported image decoding can prevent a read. Try a sharper, well-lit crop. Open Link only works for http(s) URLs — other schemes are shown as text.
